“I knew Miss Monroe when she was married to Joe DiMaggio, and we were making “The Seven Year Itch.” I knew her when she was married to Arthur Miller, and we were making “Some Like it Hot.” Her marriages didn’t work out because Joe DiMaggio found out she was Marilyn Monroe, and Arthur Miller found out she wasn’t Marilyn Monroe.” —Billy Wilder

Love your picture of the Rebbe. If Richard Avedon had made it it wouldn’t have been any better.
Loved the quotes by Billy Wilder and Lauren Bacall. A lament women have uttered though the ages 😉
A bit of trivia probably of no interest to anyone but me – my father was classmates of Lana Turner at Hollywood High.
Like Pablo Picasso’s Portrait of Olga – first Picasso I have seen that – well, most of them are pretty far out for me.
Olga Khokhlova was Picasso’s first wife, a ballerina with Diaghilev’s ballet. Take a look at http://viola.bz/olga-khokhlova-picassos-wife/ which shows much about her including paintings. Most interesting is the side-by-side photo & painting of her with her arm outstretched across the back of her chair, made in 1918.
Robert, could you please delete my comment? I didn’t remember the Lee Marvin interview as being quite that profane, but after revisiting it …
Thank you.

Billy Wilder’s pithy little comments don’t have much in the way of meaning. The equivalent of bumper stickers.

Done. Marvin was a great actor — with a great potty mouth:-)
Wait a minute… I thought all of these were originals from the Robert & Karen Avrech collection!
🙂
We wish:-)
