My dental hygienist for years has been an Ethiopian Jew who was rescued by Israelis and grew up in Israel. Much of her family, including her father, lives in Israel and she visits every year with her white Jewish husband. We have talked about the racial problem in this country where she has experienced “hate stares” from black females when she is out with her husband. They live in largely white Irvine in Orange County but she still sees the black racism.

The Army Passover photo caught my eye. My dad was in the Army at the time, although he was stationed at Fort Lee.
