Fun with Jew-Hatred

Andrew Klavan is a screenwriter, novelist and all around good guy. This is a fine, and funny video in which Andrew explains that Jew-hatred has become the drug of choice for the left.

H/T Joshua Pundit

Need more proof that the left has become a comfortable home for Jew hatred?

My friend Rob Miller at Joshua Pundit points to leftists Glenn Greenwald, Karina vanden Heuvel, Jonathan Chait, the knuckleheads on The View and Andrea Mitchell who all make excuses for Helen Thomas, a woman who advocated the ethnic cleansing of Jews from The Jewish State.

Look, this is not the first time Thomas has gone off about Jews and Israel. She’s got a long history of accusing Israel of war crimes and massacres.

Hey, if Helen Thomas suggested that blacks go back to Africa do you think she would have the same defenders?

If you do, you are delusional.

In truth, Helen Thomas only said out loud what most leftists believe.

Speaking of leftists, Reuters, a Jew-hating propaganda machine, has just indulged in an Orwellian erasing of history and truth.

Charles Johnson exposes the flotilla faux photography in which a terrorist’s knife and Jewish blood mysteriously disappear from an official Reuters photo.

Comment Rules

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

  1. No profanity.
  2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

What Thomas said isnt analogous to telling black people to go back to Africa — that captures her nastiness but not her ignorance. A better analogy is with telling Nigerians to go back home to Barbados.

Johnny, I can’t look at other comments if Robert has deleted them. I’ve posted more than one “contrary idea” that was then removed by Robert, as have other contributers. For irrefutable proof here, look at Comment #3 up above by PCD – he refers to a now-missing comment from John. We’re sometimes able to see these comments before Robert removes them…which, again, is his right that he DOES exercise in a manner quite similar to what Mr. Johnson does.
I continue to visit this sight because of the cogent and intelligent arguments made by Robert in his posts and by folks in the Comments threads. However, I must continue to insist that this site’s deletion policy continues in full vigor. There are times when inconvenient FACTS about Isreal’s behavior do not stand in the way of getting the chop. I must therefore continue to insist that there is an obvious apples-to-apples parallel here.

Klavan is definitely funny but his point about anti-semitism falls short now that he decided not to be Jewish anymore.

Brian, to compare Robert’s deletion policy with Johnson’s is to compare apples to concrete blocks. Look at the comments on this post as an example of contrary ideas being met with other facts and opinions. At LGF if you start a comment with ‘I see things differently than…’ you will be banned. Every blog run by conservatives allows people to disagree, sometimes to the detriment of the blog.
Robert is very clear about his comments policy. If people can’t abide by those simple rules they will just be wasting our valuable time as well as their apparently limited cognitive abilities.

Robert– I’ve been doing some more poking around, and while Elder’s date/time stamps predate lgf’s, there are some other blogs with earlier stamps as well. No one (other than Charles) is taking sole credit, but this expose’ seems to be more of a group effort.
I *really* dislike people taking credit for work not their own, and Charles has a long history of it.
I’m enjoying “The Hebrew Kid & the Apache Maiden”!! Keep up the great work!

Elder of Ziyon is one of the best blogs in the known universe. If LGF lifted from Elder w/out proper attribution, well then, that is quite awful.
One of my readers tipped me to Charles and thus I assumed it was his work.
If I am wrong, then I apologize for not exercising due diligence.

    Mr. Case:
    In answer to your question.
There is no room for a malignant Jew-hater who, over the course of her career, has spread lies and hatred toward the Jewish State.
    This, from Victor Davis Hanson:

By picking Poland and Germany as the ultimate destinations to which she wishes Israelis would go, Thomas was, deliberately or carelessly, saying that they should be uprooted and sent to places where 6 million of them were liquidated. In other words, Thomas was not voicing the usual prejudice, but something much creepier, a sort of flippant pop blueprint for a repeat of 1939-45, echoing the shout from one of the seaborne “peace” protestors, “Go back to Auschwitz!”

And of course the Arab News is also sticking up for Helen Thomas, because obviously the Jooz fooled her:

“The blogger-rabbi used clever verbal gymnastics to extract “incriminating evidence” and had her say: “Remember, these people are occupied. And it’s their land. Not Germany. Not Poland.”

Please don’t pat Charles on the back.
He did NOTHING on the fauxtography story. It was lifted from the Elder of Zion blog (elderofzion.blogspot.com)
The date/time stamps on Elder’s site predate the ones on lgf.
Charles didn’t do any original work on the Rather memos either. I guess trying to publicize these stories is a good thing, but passing the work off as his own is getting into the negative points.

but considering her journalistic moxie and courage over many decades
Dear Mr. Case: What journalistic moxie? There were woman journalists before Helen Thomas was born. Does the name Rose Wilder Lane ring a bell?

” … isn’t there room for someone who made a mistake, apologized for it and wants to continue speaking truth to power and asking tough questions? … ”
Yes. There is room for her.
Just as much room as if she said Blacks should go back to Africa, and then apologized for it.
When you can show that she would still be given ‘room’ if she would have made the statement about Blacks, then she can go to the same ‘room’.
    (BTW,
    ” women’s rights … speaking truth to power?!? ”
Please enlighten us as to any instance when she said even one word of ‘Truth to Power’ to any Muslim government about women’s rights. )

Isn’t there some room for Helen Thomas?
Thomas opened many doors for women journalists; she was the first woman officer of the National Press Club after it opened its doors to women members, the first woman member and president of the White House Correspondents Association and the first woman member of the Gridiron club. In 1998, Thomas was honored by President Clinton as the first recipient of the Helen Thomas Lifetime Achievement Award. She will mark her 90th birthday on Aug. 4. (Disclosure – I used web searches to assemble this particular data.)
None of these prestigious firsts or awards protected Thomas from the firestorm that followed her remarks. Time columnist Joe Klein wrote that Thomas should be stripped of her privileged seat in the White House briefing room. Her remarks WERE offensive, but considering her journalistic moxie and courage over many decades — in sharp contrast to the despicable deeds committed by so many littering the Washington political scene — isn’t there room for someone who made a mistake, apologized for it and wants to continue speaking truth to power and asking tough questions?

I can’t stand Johnson since he brooks no dissent on his blog and deletes anyone that says boo. But he deserves kudos on this issue.
Jonah Goldberg had the perfect response to all the Helen “friends” that lament her poor choice of words. Her feelings about Israel and Jews are long-standing and well documented. When I saw Lanny Davis talk about she’s been a long time friend but this went over the line I about spit my coffee. I know Davis and the other WH correspondents have not been living in a hole for the last 30 years and have seen Thomas in all her glory many times.
In St. Louis there is a large Lebanese community (the mob was more Lebanese here than Italian) but they are Christians and support Israel. Ralph Nader is a putz and the fact that his anti-Semitism has been ignored as Helen’s was says a lot about the MSM.

    Thank you so much Robert!
I seldom visit Charles anymore since he has gone to the “Dark Side,” but he always has been excellent with Photo Shop Proof! Very well done on his part.
Plus, as an added bonus, I got his link to the “San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea, 12 June 1994″ which clearly states Israel’s total compliance with this International Law regarding blockades and boarding neutral vessels.
Fancy that! Israel is actually behaving with more than the required legality…
    Who would have thunk it?
(But, I beat you to the Klavan video by about 2 days. Funny man…)

Helen, just defended now by The Guardian, might apply for work there, since they belittle free speech in America in defending her.
Helen has this in common with another person, a guy who, interested in running for the presidency some years ago said the US ought to stop all aid to Israel asap: both have Lebanese backgrounds, yet
we do not tell them to return there.
