Yesterday, Seraphic Secret pointed out the obvious: Iran is supplying Grad rockets—via tunnels from Egypt—to the terrorists in Gaza. These weapons have longer range than previous rockets. The video above was proudly released by Islamic Jihad to demonstrate how advanced has become their weaponry. By firing several rockets in rapid sequence, Israel’s Iron Dome defense system is thwarted.
Does anyone doubt that the Iranian supplied rockets will only improve with greater range and increased lethality?
Remember, it was and is Iranian supplied IED’s that have been killing and maiming American soldiers in Iraq for the past 9 years.
Imagine a terrorist group with its very own state in Mexico whose members lob missiles into the United States. Our response would be devastating.
(Obama might offer them Green Cards as a gesture of good will.)
But because the political and elite classes in Israel have internalized the relentless propaganda of the terrorists—a national Stockholm Syndrome—the Jewish State follows a policy of limited engagement, content to fight a defensive war which the terrorists correctly judge as national suicide.
Meanwhile, Hamas is fighting for supremacy in Gaza as Islamic Jihad vies for the position of biggest, baddest Jew-killers on the block.
The always excellent Arab-Israeli journalist, Khaled Abu Toameh lays out the most current Arab Muslim fratricidal warfare and what it means for Israel and the region in the long run. Naturally, it is not a pretty picture.
Islamic Jihad Becoming a Threat to Hamas:
With the help of Iran and Syria, Islamic Jihad has become the second-largest armed group in Gaza after Hamas. Today, it poses a serious challenge to the Hamas government. In the past two days Hamas chose to sit on the fence while Islamic Jihad militiamen fired rockets at Israel, acting on instructions from Tehran and Damascus.
Hamas can’t afford to be seen as playing the role of “border guard” for Israel. Dozens of disgruntled Hamas members are reported to have defected to Islamic Jihad, as have former Fatah security officers, some of whom were trained by the U.S. and EU.

It’s almost certain by now that Islamic Jihad – which is viewed by some as being more radical than Hamas – will one day rise to power in the Gaza Strip.

I guess it’s easy to say Israel should never have relinquished control of Gaza but that had problems of its own. Of course the actions of Hamas should have illustrated to the world which party was on the side of the angels but somehow the world has missed that message.
My fear is that some horrendous rocket attack and devastation on Israeli citizens is coming and it won’t be enough to get the UN and ‘civilized’ countries to act against Hamas and Islamic Jihad thus leaving Israel no choice but to defend themselves by going into Gaza. We all know how that will end.
It would be nice if the president of the United States would speak out with clarity and honesty about what is happening but he seems too busy sneaking a smoke and a cheeseburger past his wife to worry about piddly things like the ME. Instead of John Wayne we have Gumby sporting a keffiyeh in the WH.

Hamas gets replaced by Islamic Jihad. Alas, once Islamic Jihad is replaced by the next, even-more-rabid Islamic (we worship Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot) group, the Left will still be there, telling us that we are all equal and deserving in G-d’s eyes…

Liberals will blame Israel for using “disproportionate force” after they respond. That and the pictures of injured civilians used as human shields will be arguments for Israel to just sit back and take it.
