In the world according to liberals, the 70-year-old coach would be unarmed so the thugs could beat him to death, then rape and murder the female students.
Actually, stories like this take place every single day in America. But the media deliberately fail to report such incidents because:
1. Guns are evil — as are forks, which make you fat and give you heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, thus raising the cost of health care for everyone. Under Obamacare, fat people will be eliminated as too expensive.
2. Self-defense is politically incorrect. Better to die as part of a politically correct collective. In this way, Piers Morgan will sing your praises to his minuscule audience.
Any action that is not part of a collective is considered illegitimate. The chattering classes have redefined individual liberty as vigilantism.
The Second Amendment is based on a simple proposition: The right to bear arms is the right of self-defense, a G-d-given right that takes precedence over any man-made laws. Therefore, neither man nor state can, or may, ever infringe upon this right.
Liberalism does not believe in G-d. Liberalism believes in the state — in Obama. For liberal-progressive leftism, government and the cult of personality replace religion.
They reject the very notion of G-d-given rights and, by implication, the Constitution — or at least the parts they find inconvenient. Hence the bumper-sticker informing us that the Constitution is “a living, breathing document.” This is Orwellian Newspeak for “We hate the Constitution, but we make believe we love it as even as we twist it the way Pravda, or the New York Times, twists the truth.”
Police sources tell 7 Action News that a women’s basketball coach from Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School shot two men who attacked him as he was walking two basketball players to their cars in the school parking lot.
Police sources say the coach was walking the two girls to their cars when two men allegedly approached and one pulled out a gun and grabbed him by his chain necklace. The coach then pulled out his gun and shot both of them, according to sources.
The man who shot the attackers was 70 years old, according to police.
One of the attackers was found dead in the median on Lafayette Boulevard, and the other was taken to a local hospital, according to police sources. We’ve learned that both of the men had attended the high school, and one had been recently expelled.
Police sources say the coach has a Concealed Pistol License and is reportedly a reserve police officer. They say he is fully cooperating with authorities.
Crime scene tape could be seen on Lafayette Boulevard and also around the back parking lot of the school near the gym.
Students could be seen being walked to their cars late Friday night.

I have no problem with the concept of a ‘living ‘ document, ammendments are _Part_ of the constitution but needs a real majority, not the whim of a person’s feelings

I just saw Karen’s ‘gun-toting’ Twit Pic. Good for you Karen. I have yet to practice with our new shotgun (same model as your’s) and this pic prompted me to get my tushy in gear;)

Right on, Kevin.
The issue isn’t guns. It is mental illness and the unwillingness of our society in general and our authorities in particular, whoever they may be, to violate the privacy rights of the maniacs who consistently signal attack. This is not a criminal elite but individuals from all classes and ethnicities. I suppose when Jean Harris was at least in part excused for her deed the die was cast. But, maybe not. Could go back to Leopold and Loeb or Bruno Hauptman and the empathy if not sympathy these disgusting creatures have received in their own time and historically.

Two years ago my 88-year-old uncle, a WWII vet, was beaten to death by a young, enraged, (probably) mentally-ill thug who lived in the same apartment building. The murder was completely unprovoked and the killer used nothing but his fists and feet.
I don’t know that a gun could have saved my uncle, but this incident is a close-to-home reminder that the right to defend yourself, your family, or any other innocent person is not academic.
