Jews run Hollywood.
This is common knowledge — or slander, depending on the context. Would that it were true.
But based on the resounding silence of Jewish Hollywood as Israel fights Hamas, major producers, directors, writers, and stars (except for Jon Voight, who is not Jewish) are afraid of deviating from the Left’s reflexive anti-Israel dogma.
Perhaps Hollywood Jews are simply uninformed about the true nature of radical Islam. How else can one explain the resounding silence?
These are people who have donated millions to organizations devoted to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and educating young people in order to prevent future Holocausts.
Are these Tinsel Town power brokers interested only in dead Jews? Don’t they know that Hamas is Nazism wrapped in the flag of the Islamic caliphate?
Hamas does not hide, nor is it ashamed of, its eliminationist agenda: to destroy the State of Israel and murder every Jew on the face of the earth.
Perhaps these silent Hollywood Jews have not taken the time to read the Hamas Charter, which vows to establish an Islamist caliphate in which all Jews and Christians are offered the choice of conversion to Islam or death; in which homosexuals are publicly hanged, n0n-believers beheaded and women treated like dogs.
In truth, these Hollywood Jews are intimidated by the rigidly politically correct strictures of the Left. They are as timidly self-conscious of their status in the liberal community as any ghetto Jew was over the centuries that ghettos existed.
A deeply disturbing conversation I had recently with a liberal friend illustrates the Hollywood liberal dilemma.
A child of the sixties who grew up in the shadow of the Holocaust — her father was a survivor — she was, she told us, afraid to speak up when her progressive friends viciously denigrated Israel.
She said, “I agree with them on 90 percent of their politics, but when Israel comes up I’m so enraged that I just keep quiet. I’m afraid I’ll explode.”
As Edmund Burke wrote: “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”
Now is the time for moguls like Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Barbra Streisand, David Geffen, Ari Emanuel and so many others — you know who you are — to break their silence, to tell their friend Barack Obama — to whom they have donated millions — that America must stand with Israel and not support the theocratic fascists of Qatar, Turkey and Hamas; now is the time to raise money for the IDF and for the children of Israel who are living in bomb shelters, who are born with post-traumatic syndrome. Now is the time to give concerts in support of the Jewish State.
Now is the time for Hollywood Jews to use their power.
