In June 1948, the day after that she divorced her first husband, actress Gloria Grahame wed director Nicholas Ray.
But the marriage was troubled and ended when Ray walked in on Grahame while she was in bed with another man.
Actually, a boy.
He was 13-year-old Anthony Ray, Nick’s son from a previous marriage.
Grahame and Ray divorced in 1952, right before Grahame won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Bad and the Beautiful.
Gloria Grahame married twice more. To writer Cy Howard in 1954, and then, in 1960, to her ex-teenage lover and former stepson, Anthony Ray.
The marriage between the talented, but deeply troubled actress — she was probably bipolar — and Anthony lasted 14 years and produced two sons. It ended in 1974.
Said Grahame on marrying her former stepson: “I married Nicholas Ray, the director. People yawned. Later on I married his son, and from the press’s reaction you’d have thought I was committing incest or robbing the cradle!”
Here’s Grahame winning her Oscar. She gives the best Oscar speech I have ever heard.

Wow. Worse than Woody Allen and Soon Yee.
Said Grahame on marrying her former stepson: “I married Nicholas Ray, the director. People yawned. Later on I married his son, and from the press’s reaction you’d have thought I was committing incest or robbing the cradle!”
Umm, Gloria, when you marry a grown man, no one cares. When you are caught $#@*& your 13 year old stepson (whom you later marry), that is (at best) statutory rape. Yeah, people tend to notice… geez, what a self-obsessed sociopath!
