Hey kids, kick off your shoes, pop some popcorn, curl up on the couch and enjoy Iranian TV, where Jew-hatred and conspiracy theories abound.
Weird, I saw The Social Network and at no point does Mark Zuckerberg get all Zionist and offer a bounty for dead Arabs.
That stuff must have ended up on the cutting room floor.
You know what’s most enraging about this kind of filth?
It’s not the Jew-hatred, which is a finely woven thread in the body of Islam.
It’s not the truly insane conspiracy theories that run rampant—pathology as entertainment—in the Muslim world.
What’s truly enraging is the obsessive calls by the Western chattering class for Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians so the Arab world will come to their senses and get all cuddly with the hated Jews.
These pundits conveniently forget that Israel acted as a Judenrat and expelled 10,000 Jews from Gaza.
Israel gave back all of the Sinai to Egypt.
Israel fled southern Lebanon.
And what was the result?
The rise of Hamas, Hizbullah Islamic Jihad, and Iran’s growing influence not only in Gaza, but the entire Arab Muslim world.
Note: the first act of the post-Mubarak provisional Egyptian government was to allow Iranian warships to pass through the Suez Canal. This was a smart, agile move on the part of the Iranian theocrats and an act of abject servitude on the part of the Egyptian military.
Anyone who believes that Egypt will not be ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood within a few short years is a fool.
For every concession Israel makes the Arab Muslim world sees a people who are willing to commit national suicide.
The problems in the Arab Muslim world have nothing to do with Israel. Jews/Israel are, as always, a powerful and convenient distraction, a means by which a backward people avoid confronting the terrible shortcomings of their religion and their civilization. It’s a form of magical thinking which whispers: “If only Jews/Israel did not exist everything would be just great.”
The problems in the Arab Muslim world are—and this is just a partial list: honor killings, gender apartheid, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, intolerance of all religions except Islam, hatred, ignorance, tribalism, collectivism, corruption, dynastic power, lack of economic freedom, totalitarian Socialist states, and, whew, Caliphate Islam.
Draw a diagram of the Arab Muslim world and hey, it looks suspiciously like a circular firing squad.

Robert, I just saw the Wall Street Journal editorial board listed the 15 best movies ever.
Number 1 is Patton (my father salutes from the grave), number 14 is The Quiet Man (it’s not really St. Patrick’s Day unless I watch it) and number 15 is Dirty Harry (John Nolte’s day is made).
But since the oldest movie on the list is The Quiet Man it may be lacking in credibility.

Watching Slow Joe this morning they were talking to someone about the King of Jordan’s new book. While talking about the unrest in the ME, they hit him with such hard questions like ‘why don’t they have any unrest in Jordan?’ And the answer was that the king is so well loved and that they know he is working on peace between Israel and the palis.
His answer to the unrest is to solve the Israeli problem! And the clueless talking heads in the studio all bobbed in agreement.
Unless you live under a rock or the upper east side, you know that the unrest in the ME is internal. The rebels all hate Israel but so do their leaders and everyone in the government. Both sides want Israel pushed off the map. Israel could be more muslim than Saudi Arabia and it would not make a bit of difference in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia etc.
The lamestream media has a two word solution for every problem in the ME and most other parts of the world – 1967 borders. As if Israel was loved like Switzerlad before the Six Day War and everything was unicorns and puppies. For these people to be described as stupid they first have to pass through dumb and I don’t think they are capable of reaching such heights.
