Obama is clueless.
His red line reminds me of the chalk marks my children used to inscribe in the sidewalk in front of Casa Avrech. After a few days, sunlight and water from the sprinklers faded the lines into nothingness. Now, Obama seeks to save credibility by going to Congress, by begging our allies for support, and of course, tomorrow Obama will deliver the greatest speech in the history of speeches. I know because the Praetorian Press will tell us so.
The truth is Obama has zero credibility in foreign affairs. His support of the Muslim Brotherhood has brought only death, destruction and chaos to the always volatile Arab Muslim world.
In Israel, there is no appetite for involvement in the Syrian civil war. There are no good guys, only scorpions in a bottle. When savages meet, there are no good outcomes.
But there is a new clarity.
Bibi understands that Obama cannot be trusted when it comes to Iran, the terrorist state that is going nuclear. Already, Obama has vetoed an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Obama’s supporters argue that Iran is different, not all red lines are the same, blah, blah, blah.
But in the real world, we judge men by their actions, not by their rhetoric. Obama’s actions on the world stage are consistent; he is an appeaser; he is an untrustworthy ally. He is so far out of his depth in the Hobbesian Arab world that, were it not so tragic, it would be laughable.
Seraphic Secret has it on good authority that when the times comes, Bibi will inform Obama of the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities as it’s happening. Israel understands that while an overwhelming number of Americans are Israel’s allies, Barack Obama is not. In fact, he is best described as an enemy of the Jewish State. You cannot support the Jew-hating, genocidal-yearning Muslim Brotherhood and at the same time claim frendship with Israel.
Israel will go it alone.
And Israel is very good at going it alone. There are Israeli doctors in Syria and Jordan right now, at the risk of their own lives, saving the lives of wounded civilians.
When Israeli doctors and aid workers go into refugee camps in Jordan, they change clothes so that they can fade into the background. They must be smuggled in and out. They don’t tell others where they’re going and when they go home they usually don’t say where they have been. Israel does nothing, officially, that could make it look like the medical corps of the rebellion.
An Israeli organization, iL4Syrians, operates anonymously in Syria, providing food and medical supplies for those who need them. Its web site identifies no directors or staff but carries a defiant slogan: “Nobody asks permission to kill. We do not ask permission to save lives.”
They argue that respect for the sanctity of human life expresses Jewish tradition and culture. As they see it, this applies to Israel’s toughest and cruelest enemies as well as anyone else.
An Israeli Arabic paper reports: “The Arab countries offer condolences but the best role is provided by the Israelis because they are crossing the border to provide assistance to the refugees, risking their lives without a word of thank you.”
