Highly ritualized theater of dance and drama distinguished by elaborate makeup that transforms human characters into demons. The performances play for hours, even for days. Ritual suicide is the hallmark of kabuki’s third act.
Israel is, once again, being forced to perform kabuki.
Wide Angle Shot#1: Syria is in the third year of a savage civil war in which over 100,000 civilians have been murdered by both sides; there are over a million Syrian refugees. Syria will split into two, maybe three, separate reichlets. The unified Syrian state—a French-British colonial fantasy—is devolving before our very eyes into a pre-Westphalian state of tribal and clan fiefdoms.
Wide Angle Shot #2: As Syria burns, the political vacuum in the absence of American influence is being filled by transnational jihadists. The IDF is on full Syrian alert, anticipating the creation of a full-fledged terror state. Various Sayeret units are very busy these days.
Wide Angle Shot #3: Egyptians are a proud people who look askance at their Syrian brothers and emphatically deny that Cairo will go the way of Damascus. Except it is. A full-blown Egyptian civil war is developing. Egyptians think that Syrians are a bunch of barbarians, embarrassing idiot cousins. But the Egyptian civil war will be just as savage, just as filled with mass murder, torture and rape, as brought to you by Syria.
Wide Angle Shot#4: Hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees are pouring into Jordan. Among the huddled masses yearning to be free are a goodly number of Islamists who hate the Hashemites almost as much as they hate Jews and Christians. The name of the Jihadist game is to foment revolution in Jordan—the so-called Palestinians make up about 80% of the Jordanian population, which makes Jordan yet another Palestinian state, along with happy-go-lucky Gaza. Thus we can expect a replay of Black September any day now.
Wide Angle Shot #5: In Turkey, the Islamist PM is still locking up journalists and sending out copies of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to the very best people.
Close-Up: In Lebanon, Hezbollah have just learned that they have a political wing and a military wing c/o of the Jew-hating EU. Oddly enough, nobody in Iran, Lebanon or Hezbollah itself, believes that such a distinction exists. You can always count on the Europeans to pave the way for the genocide of the Jewish people.
Will releasing 104 genocidal Jew-haters bring regional stability?
Will another round of go-nowhere peace talks iron out the ageless Arab squabbles and internal Muslim blood feuds?
Of course not.
So: why is Bibi agreeing to Obama’s not-so-subtle demand for the release of 104 murderers who will, unquestionably, return to their trade?
Will the latest round of so-called peace talks in a so-called peace process heal the Syrian civil war? How about the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt? Will they turn around and say “Whoopdeedo! The peace process is processing along, so we’ll stop calling for the genocide of the Jewish state and the Jewish people”?
How about Iran? Will the release of 104 stone killers halt their march to the nuclear red line?
And what of the so-called Palestinians? Now that another peace process is rolling along will they modify their demands for the dismantling of the Jewish state? Will their schools stop teaching Nazi Jew-hatred? Will they give up their demand for a Judenrein Palestine reichlet?
Obviously, rhetorical questions.
Here’s the simple truth: The Democrats — and that includes Obama and Kerry — are a reactionary political force. They have a static view of the world.
If it looked good in say, 1968, well, it looks good today.
The static view dictates that in terms of race relations it is always 1963, always Selma, Alabama. The static view insists on global freezing, global warming—finally, climate change, which is short for the weather. The static view interprets economics as a Hobbesian conflict where one person wins at the expense of someone else. Hence the need and justification for income redistribution because of… ahem… income inequality — a Marxist dog whistle for class warfare.
Obama and his crew are academic elitists with little to no experience in the practical, entrepreneurial world. They are theoretical human beings. For Obama, a flowery speech is policy. Words are indistinguishable from action. For team Obama, the immature obsessions of youth—those cool all-nighters where they got all passionate about post-structuralist feminism and American neo-colonialism—are just as real now as they were in the good ol’ days.
Say what you will about the left — they never give up. They are relentless. And they never allow facts or truth hinder their utopian obsessions. They assured us, back in Oslo, that Israel-Palestine was the key to regional stability. Solve this annoying geopolitical problem and everything else will naturally fall into place.
Except that it didn’t.
Israel-Palestine is maybe number 1,064 on the list of concerns in the Arab Muslim world. Even the so-called Palestinians don’t really care about some place called Palestine. In fact, they already have it in Gaza, another Arab-Muslim heaven on earth. What they really care about — in fact, the only thing they care about — is destroying Israel. Palestine is simply a verbal tic, an excuse, a justification for genocidal hatred.
The Arabs know that Obama is a paper tiger who has been steamrolled by history, and yet he’s still trying to convince the players that he is relevant.
Bibi has two choices:
1. Ignore Obama, thus exposing the U.S. to even more ridicule.
Make no mistake about it: Muslim tyrants are getting a kick out of watching Obama lecture the American people about Trayvon Martin even as Iraq and Afghanistan thumb their noses at Team Obama.
2. Bibi bows to Obama, playing along with the fiction that Lurch—AKA Kerry—is not a fool on a fool’s errand.
Result: Israel continues to bask in the good graces of American power, which means that the resupply of arms will continue.
It is true that the release of 104 Jew-killers is a high price to pay. But Bibi has done the calculus, and rather than head into the third act of Killer Kabuki — the part where he disembowels himself — he figures he’ll just grit his teeth, hang in there until the end of Obama’s eight years, and hope that the American people regain their sanity in the next national elections.
