Morsi: “Jews Are Apes and Pigs,” World Yawns

Imagine how the mainstream media would salivate and then pounce if Benjamin Netanyahu ever called Arabs apes and pigs?

As American social policy falls deeper under the Obama Democrat-Socialist juggernaut of massive taxes, fiscal suicide, and shrinking liberties, the mainstream media—which covers for Obama instead of covering Obama—has also adopted the radical leftist Jew-hating ideology of the European press. Which, briefly summarized, means:

1. Demonizing Israel.

2. Mainstreaming Islamism.

3. Not reporting the racist, genocidal-yearning Jew-hatred of caliphate Islamists. Men such as the current President of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi.

Last Friday, the sitting president of Egypt – the world’s 15th most populous nation — was exposed for calling Jews “apes and pigs.” And he did it in a TV interview (in Arabic) in 2010, less than two years before he took office.

Needless to say, this was HUGE NEWS for American mass media! Only it wasn’t. (Knock, knock, New York Times? Anybody home?) In fact, to be fair to the paper of record, not a single major outlet has covered it. Not AP or Reuters. Not CBS News or CNN. Not Time magazine or U.S. News & World Report. Not the Washington Post or the Wall Street Journal. Etcetera. And therein lies a story – a big story that this column can only begin to skin open here.

Mohamed Morsi’s bizarre Apes-and-Pigs rant hit the Jerusalem Post’s homepage that same day (again, last Friday), as its lead story. Specifically, a prestigious U.S. organization named the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) — chaired by Oliver “Buck” Revell, a former deputy head of the FBI in charge of counter-terrorism – released it widely to the global media and posted it on YouTube.

Undoubtedly, the Cairo and Jerusalem bureaus of the big U.S. media outlets saw the story. But the news only found its way to certain American readers and viewers by getting picked up in Jewish and/or conservative forums over the following days.

Commentary magazine, American Thinker and Breitbart thoughtfully weighed in on the subject. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), Jewish Talk Radio, and the Christian Broadcasting Network also saw value in covering it. So did – of all things — a prominent national stock-picking and finance newspaper, Investor’s Business Daily. Fox News entertainer Sean Hannity has been pouncing on it — no surprise there.  (Do I really have to tune in to that unpleasant loudmouth if I want to be sure not to miss such newsworthy information?) UPI gave it some pickup, but that news service is only a shadow of its former great self. Once nearly equaling the size and reach of AP in the 1960s, it shrunk to a virtual carcass by 2000 — when it was sold to a company founded by Reverend Moon, the self-proclaimed messiah.

The dig at Hannity is small-minded elitism. Shouldn’t Fox News and Sean Hannity be applauded for reporting an important story?

Full story here.

Elder of Ziyon notes that this is only one small example of the mainstream media ignoring the daily incitements of the Islamist media. Go to his blog where he lists just a few of the Jew-hating articles and actions in the Arab and Iranian media he has reported in only the past month.

And of course, it doesn’t help that Barack Hussein Obama arms and finances—your tax dollars at work—the Muslim Brotherhood.

Comment Rules

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

  1. No profanity.
  2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

“The Palestinians, the Arabs and the Moslems.”
Isin’t that like saying “the Poles, the Slavs…” The now-so-called “Palestinians” ARE Arabs.

(Knock, knock, New York Times? Anybody home?)

I absolutely detest the NYT, but in fairness, the NYT did run a piece dated Jan.14/13
(may not have been up when you wrote your original post, but it is up now):

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/15/world/middleeast/egypts-leader-morsi-made-anti-jewish-slurs.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&smid=tw-nytimes&partner=rss&emc=rss&

It may be that all the attention from the blogosphere and Jewish groups can still get through to the self-hating Jewish liberal writers for the NYT, when the insult to Jews is something that even they can’t explain away or justify …

Yes, the NYT finally reported the story. Mazal Tov! But this is only the tip of the Islamist, Jew-hating iceberg. This is an ongoing story in the Muslim world where Jew-hatred and incitement to genocide are delivered in mother’s milk.

It has to be understood that whether you are an Israeli, American, Korean, Ubangi (sorry W. C.), or Russian, mankind has never enjoyed a right that was not gained and maintained by force of arms. Hence the importance of the 2nd Amendment and the need to safeguard it against all comers.

This holds true also for Jewish history. An inconvenient truth ignored by liberal American Jews who agitate for gun control. As if gun control will banish evil.

Normally I would say the media is ignoring this story because it is so common to find open and blatant anti-Semitism from muslim countries in that part of the world – sort of like ignoring the dog that barks at a passing car. Call me when the dog catches the car.

But then I remember the mainstream media has ignored all those other examples and there are millions around this country have no clue that anti-Semitism is common in all parts of Egyptian society. And this is a country that has recognized Israel and signed a peace treaty. Any guesses on attitudes in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan?

Hannity and Glenn Beck are strong supporters of Israel and it is another reason for their critics on the left dislike them. There are no shades of gray to them and for liberals it is always about the nuance in these situations.

The left is ideologically and functionally anti-Semitic. That they claim to know what’s best for Israel is a sign of the Orwellian Newspeak which is their defacto rhetoric.

I saw the first part of Wolf Blitzer’s interview but could not, or would not, stay with it. If this guy Morsi had any charm or presence that at least would make the free pass, relatively free pass, that he is getting clear and understandable. But he is obvious and empty. Jeez.

Most people have not the least comprehension of what it takes to be come a leader in the Muslim Brotherhood. Only the most ideologically rigid are allowed to flourish. Those who show any weakness or deviation from the Jew and America-hating party line are dismissed or assassinated. Morsi is a true MB believer. In short, an IslamoNazi.
