Obama Embraces Muslim Brotherhood

For the past few days I’ve been reading The Kingdom: Arabia & The House of Sa’ud, Robert Lacey’s magisterial and meticulous history of Sa’udi Arabia, the blood and oil soaked Wahhabist empire, a family business—Sa’ud is a family name—tricked out as a country.

Here’s a quote on page 145 (1981, hardcover edition)  that discusses the Ikhwan, the Muslim Brotherhood:

There were two types of desert warfare, Abdul Aziz’s grandfather Faisal told Colonel Pelly in 1865: religious war and political war. Political warfare involved compromise. But ‘when the question is one of religion,’ the old man had explained, ‘we kill everybody.’

If you think things have changed since 1865, you are making the grave if not fatal error of judging Islamists by Judeo-Christian standards.

In that light, Frank Gaffney’s article about Obama’s embrace of the Muslim Brotherhood should sound an alarm to rational, common sense people.

It is also worth noting that Hamas, the genocidal yearning terrorist group that occupies Gaza, functions as the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood. Thus one can only speculate at what point will Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton reach out and give political and social legitimacy to an organization who’s foundational document embraces The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, that poisonous Tzarist forgery used so effectively by the Nazis in their program to eliminate the Jewish people.

And of course, the Muslim Brotherhood are delighted with Obama and have already presented their first demand: Drop Israel.

I have a fab-u-lous idea for American Jews: keep voting for Obama.

What could possibly go wrong?

The Obama administration chose the eve of the holiday marking our Nation’s birth to acknowledge publicly behavior in which it has long been stealthily engaged to the United States’ extreme detriment:  Its officials now admit that they are embracing the Muslim Brotherhood (MB or Ikhwanin Arabic).  That would be the same international Islamist organization that has the destruction of the United States, Israel and all other parts of the Free World as its explicit objective.

On Thursday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to downplay the momentousness of this major policy shift by portraying it during a stopover in Budapest as follows:  “The Obama administration is continuing the approach of limited contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood that have existed on and off for about five or six years.”  In fact, as former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy points out in a characteristically brilliant, and scathing, dissection of this announcement, Team Obama’s official, open legitimation of the Brotherhood marks a dramatic break from the U.S. government’s historical refusal to deal formally with the Ikhwan.

To understand why the Obama administration’s embrace of the Muslim Brotherhood is so ominous, consider three insights into the organization’s nature and ambitions:

First, here’s the MB’s creed:  “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”  (Source: Husain Haqqani and Hillel Fradkin, “Islamist Parties: Going Back to the Origins.”)

I haven’t read that book on Al Sa’ud, but I have read a few others.
What I find most disturbing is that no one, both those for and against the Islamists, seems to have recognized that the Wahhabist Death Cult, instituted by al Sa’ud, has replaced normative Sunni Islam so that today, the norms of this death cult are considered the norms of Sunni Islam.
I believe that the world who hate and fear the Islamists would do well to separate these two very different forms of Islam.
Then again, that would mean specifically repudiating and condemning Saudi Arabia and everything that it has done for the last 100 years.
    Hmmm….  Yeah.  Like that’s going to happen…

The House of Sa’ud is a blight on humanity. Their history of mass murder of other Muslims and physical and theocratic imperialism is unmatched in the ME.

Lacey’s book is fantastic. Highly recommended.

As I mentioned recently, here in Australia a Jewish business has been picketed, nationally, and their customers harassed. We were given the flimsy political grounds for this action – Max Brenner contributes chocolate to the ration packs of Israeli soldiers! – yet there is a real feeling of the Collectivist Left finding its true roots when you see the vision in this reportage.
When two gay teenagers were subjected to slow hanging, in the presence of a jeering Iranian mob, one would have expected wild demonstrations across Australia by “activists” such as those outside Max Brenner. Not a peep. It’s a bit like the silence of the International Sisterhood over the Taliban: self-loathing authoritarians look after their kind at all costs.
In spite of subsequent clarifications etc, Obama has clearly called for Israel to shrink to indefensible borders. I really hope that American Jews are giving serious consideration to encouraging Allen West to make a run for Obama’s job. It’s not just the great haircut. He has an instinct to act and to protect, and, judging by the scenes outside Max Brenner, this is not a time for ditherers and jugglers.

      Slow Camino:

The left does not give a damn about gays, women or human rights. Their program is to desgroy the Jewish State and undermine Western Demoracy. Liberal facism is all the rage among the international chattering classes.

I don’t know why I’m reminded of the nice Catholics – including the elderly nun, who allowed herself to be interviewed, for some reason – who publicly voted for Obama in the last election. THEY couldn’t have been terrified by the scary pro-life fundamentalists, can they?
Obama managed to pull off something unprecedented in US politics – he made himself appealing to almost everyone, by appearing to be a different person to everybody. Look at all the conservative ideologues who confidently shared their high esteem for the man with us on the editorial pages – and sheepishly regretted their mistake later. Hell, I never had much of an opinion of Donald Trump, but his about face was pitiful, especially as he tried to double down on his turnabout.
I’ve met a lot of liberal Jews who seem to have embraced pro-choice as the only sane opinion a person can hold, and cherish the most fantastic misconceptions about Catholics and evangelicals; they even manage to outdo Anglicans on their wild misapprehensions about Catholics; it’s like reading an anti-Al Smith editorial during the 1928 election. But I can’t believe that’s the only reason that Jews vote Democrat so consistently.
And as for the bright young Harvard Man you met, Robert – you’ve reminded me why I despair for the future, if these brilliant young zombies will lead us.

The Jews who vote Democrat are overwhelmingly secular. Over 80% of Torah Jews are Conservative Republicans. This demographic breakdown is vital in understanding that liberalism is a religion that substitutes for Judaism.

The Democrats know they will win the Jewish vote along with Hispanics and blacks and any voter that puts abortion above all other issues.  The question is will their turnout be down.
Ahmadinejad could walk through the streets of Tel Aviv with his finger on an atomic bomb strapped to his back and there would be American Jews telling us that Iran doesn’t really want to push Israel into the sea.  To them, the fear of American evangelicals outweighs everything in the ME.  Those whacky people actually believe it when they say they are pro-life.

I’m not sure there is a Jewish vote. We make up a tiny % of the American population. But the biggest donors to the Democrats are Jewish. And if some of these fat cats withhold contributions to Obama, it will hurt his chances in 2012.

Yes, the Muslim Brotherhood is moderate — in the same vein that Adolf Hitler was a moderate!

It scares me that Obama and Clinton look at the MB and really see a moderate organization.  So many liberals have those special rose colored glasses.  Either that or they are doing such massive quantity of drugs that they are equipped to travel to Las Vegas with Hunter Thompson and Raoul Duke.

For all I know, there may be some actually rational reason for dealing with the Muslim Brotherhood—conceding for the sake of argument that “complete amoral self-interest” is a rational reason. What I mean is, Obama might believe he/the Democrats/America (doubt it) stand to benefit more by abandoning Israel and throwing in with its enemies.
What trips me up is that the Obama administration has actually, in full view of actual grownups, tried to pass off the Muslim Brotherhood as moderates. Which automatically raises the question, “What baby-eating supervillains would a Muslim group have to be, before he’ll call them ‘extremists’?”

      Pax :

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a Harvard student, a J Street-Obama Jew. He told me that Fatah are a “rational” political organization. My response: “Rational if you consider the destruction of Israel to be a rational objective.” He just smirked, indicating that my view of geopolitics is grossly unsophisticated.
