From the very beginning of Seraphic Secret’s work in the blogosphere, we have maintained that Hollywood movies are the most powerful weapon of propaganda the world has ever known.
America wins wars that Hollywood supports.
And of course, America loses wars that Hollywood opposes.
Those progressive Democrats who supported, guided, and nurtured the rise of Barack Obama are highly sophisticated in the culture of Hollywood propaganda. They understood that a (sorta) black man, thin, well-spoken, and attractive, could, if correctly marketed, exert a powerful influence over the American electorate.
It mattered little that Obama’s resume was thin as the skin of an onion. In fact, this failed community organizer’s lack of real life work experience could be made to work for him. The apparent blankness that was at the heart of Barack Hussein Obama would be filled by the inchoate yearnings of American citizens who desperately wished to prove that they were not not bigots. Not only would they vote for a man who was black, but they would vote for a man whose middle name was Hussein.
The problem with Obama and the machinery of propaganda that propelled him to the most powerful office in the known universe is painfully obvious: theater is an illusion, and illusions break down under the pressure of real life.
But Obama and his followers are set in their ways. They know nothing beyond the seizure of power, which is the end-game of post-modern Democrats.
Obama swept into office claiming that henceforth the United States would not act unilaterally, like cowboy George Bush, but seek a consensus among an (illusory) community of nations.
It is but one step from community organizer to community of nations.
Worth noting: The rhetorical community of nations is but a rebranding of the Communist Internationale.
Most recently, Obama has declared patty-cake against the genocidal forces of the Islamic State. One would assume that the Pentagon would be giving press conferences. It is, after all, the Pentagon — or at least it used to be! — who were taken seriously when it came to war.
But no longer.
Now it is the cute State Department propaganda bunnies, Jen Psaki, usually with her trademark oversized turquoise necklaces, and Marie Harf, she of the oh-so-serious black-framed glasses, who brief the press on the “conflict” with Islamic State.
The word war is never used.
Progressives do not make war. Only evil Republicans do mean stuff like war.
Progressives manage conflicts with the community of nations.
Of course, there is no community of nations, just as there is no managing evil. And there is no deterrence beyond death. Just as German National Socialism had to be exterminated, and the evil of Imperial Japan had to be blown to smithereens, so too must America deal with the cancer of Caliphate Islam.
But Obama rose to power on a paradigm of Hollywood style theater — glamour, celebrity, utopian rhetoric — and his entire administration cheerfully follows his lead.
America has devolved into and endless loop of political community theater.
Make no mistake about it. This new paradigm enables the evil of Caliphate Islam, and now hundreds of thousands of innocent people will be tortured, butchered, raped, and enslaved.
That’s show-biz in the age of Obama.
