President Obama’s fuzzy math—code for lying—that federal spending has risen at the slowest pace of any president in almost 60 years, contains two deeply revealing truths:
1. Obama has such contempt for the press he assumes they will enable this lie.
2. The lie contains and highlights a deep contradiction: if federal spending is, as he claims, at such a slow pace, then we must conclude that this is a desirable goal. But if he’s lying, which he is, and federal spending is, under his watch, out of control, which it is, then we must conclude that his spending is not a desirable goal, In fact, it is an outright disaster, a danger to the republic.
Or perhaps Obama’s concept of truth is simply evolving.

Your comparison of this article to fuzzy math is a slander to fuzzy math, which in good faith attempts to quantify genuine uncertainty.
There’s no good faith in the article.

The original article read like it was written by Obama’s speech writing team and handed to Nuttig for publication. You didn’t have to be a trained economist to see the holes in his argument. Even most Women’s Studies majors at the most liberal institutuions of higher learning were laughing at Nuttig.
The only ones buying it with no questions asked were the prime-time lineup on MSNBC.

The problem with a big lie is when repeated to the unsophisticated voter it becomes truth.

How can he make such claims when he has added more to the national debt than every preceeding president – since Washington – combined?
To be fair most of this mess started after Vietnam but still….

You want to know how Obama can make such an outrageous claim? Because he’s a spinner of delusions. In fact, his entire career is built on ullusions and delusiuon. He will say anything in the pursuit of power.

Most of the people still supporting Obama don’t give a damn if he’s over-spending or not. He’s just doing this to appear fiscally conservative to a few “on-the-fence” voters. Most of the liberals I know think he’s either the second coming of the Lord, or too far right. Go figure.

I decided I’d go back and change that to “darn”, but I can’t edit it

The voters who will determine them outcome of the next POTUS election—Independents—are the target audience for Obama’s pitch. Will they buy it? I think not. Because Independents are, for the most part, sophisticated citizens who actually pay attention to what’s going on. Personally, I hope Obama keeps slinging these economic lies. They will bury him.

By the way, the Obama team is in CRISIS MODE because the AP fact-checked this Obama “not a big spender” baloney and the Washington Post put it on the front page this past weekend! The problem is there were two speeches last week where Obama repeated the claim and everyone has it on tape. It’s like Bush I’s “read my lips, no new taxes” soundbite that came back to hurt him. I almost think Obama fell into a trap. The Romney people must now exploit this. Run that soundbite over and over and then show a graphic of the national debt at $16 trillion when it was $9 trillion when Obama took office.

This is JUST like the strategy used by Holocaust deniers. First they say the Holocaust never happened and the Jews are lying. Then they “show” how the Jews are evil incarnate and you know, the Nazis were RIGHT to kill the Jews… which they didn’t do because the Holocaust never happened. Got it?

Right you are. Obama and Holocaust deniers rely on the same rhetorical strategies. But then, the radical left and fascism are blood brothers, especially when it comes to the Jews and Israel.
