Huma Abedin Weiner with BFF Hillary Clinton.
Last week’s issue of People magazine published a typically squishy article on Weinergate that focused on Weiner’s Muslim wife Huma Abedin.
The purpose of the article was to paint Mrs. Weiner as a noble victim.
This is a standard liberal strategy: the victim as hero.
The mainstream media carried out exactly the same campaign on behalf of Hillary Clinton when it was revealed that her husband, then President of the United States, was receiving oral sex in the Oval Office from intern Monica Lewinsky, a girl young enough to be his daughter.
Vogue immediately did an expert makeover on Hillary—kill the pants suit, cried the stylist—and splashed her on the cover in deep soft-focus.
The liberal media are reliable enablers to emotionally dysfunctional, if not criminal, Democrats.
In People’s profile of the Weiners, Huma Abedin is painted as a glamorous, virtuous and pious Muslim. So pious that out of respect, husband Anthony Weiner fasts during Ramadan.
We wonder if Weiner also fasts on Yom Kippur out of respect for y’know, Judaism?
But here’s the kicker: People, in their bathroom-ready prose, defines Mrs. Weiner as a “refined Muslim” in contrast to her husband, a “brash New York Jew.”
Think about this for a moment.
Let the ugly implication sink in.
My wife Karen was properly outraged and fired off the following note to People.

Subject: Weinergate
To: “Editor@people.com”
I would like to know if you would ever consider slandering another minority with impunity as you did your Jewish readers in your article describing Anthony Weiner’s marriage. To label him a “brash” Jew in contrast to a “refined” Muslim, is to engage in the lowest form of stereotyping. As an Orthodox Jew I am offended and I demand an apology. You would never dare apply such broad stroke slander to any other religious or ethnic group. You have engaged in the basest form of anti-Semitism.
Karen S. Avrech, Ph.D.
There are some questions about Mrs. Weiner that People has not addressed:
1. How did this “refined” and pious Muslim marry a “brash New York Jew?” It makes no sense. Pious Muslims only marry Muslims. See Front Page for an eye-opening discussion of this mystery.
2. Okay, maybe Anthony Weiner is so devastatingly charming and handsome that Huma couldn’t resist. I mean, just dig into his Tweets to porn star Ginger Lee—how come there are never porn actresses, just porn stars?—and you can see what a class act is The Weiner, obviously perfect marriage material for a pious Muslim.
3. But what about Huma Abedin’s family who are all Islamists with strong ties to, get this, the Muslim Brotherhood? Did they actually give their daughter the okay to marry an infidel?
4. My friend Rob Miller of Joshua Pundit analyzes the backstory of the Weinergate scandal and reasonably asks: Did Anthony Weiner secretly convert to Islam? And is Huma Abedin Weiner, current Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and a long time member of Hillary’s Pants Suit Brigade, an Islamist mole?
5. These are questions that should, but won’t, receive wide coverage.
Look at it like this: if Weiner’s wife were an Orthodox Jew with strong ties to, oh, say, Israel, don’t you think the media would be all over that story with charges of conflict of interest, dual loyalties, state secrets, etc?
Of course they would.
When and if we get a reply from People, we’ll be sure to post it.

“Believe me, it will get their attention.”
Sometimes, surprisingly it does, YALE is re-instituting their anti-semitism research program after numerous protests and letters.
Sometimes, it just falls on deaf ears,
as in all the letters and requests to Obama to let Jonathan Pollard attend his father’s funeral.
About her not wearing the hijab …
a little unusual, considering that it’s sometimes the last article of clothing to go,

Weiner’s behavior should be a reminder to everyone, Jewish or otherwise, to be an ethical human being.
It also reminds me that even though Weiner is not Jewish, it doesn’t matter. All it takes is some sort of association (ie. surname) to Jewishness for the anti-Semites to rear their ugly heads. It was good enough for Hitler (yamach sh’mo)!
Ugh, may we only know of good days ahead.

I agree that he’s playing the in-your-face leftist, but he’s doing it from a socio-ethnic template, that of a New York Jew. I mean, really, watching that guy go on, it was impossible to keep a straight face, he was so over the top. It was like watching an SNL sketch.
Look, it’s kind of like the same schtick you get from Jim Hightower or the late Molly Ivins–brash Rednecks or something like that. Most Texans abhor their politics and want nothing to do with them, but their readership loves it, so they ham it up (or used to ham it up in Molly’s case).
There are black, Italian and Irish equivalents as well. Weiner was trying to be legislative equivalent of an Alan Derschowitz. I can see how the People writer would fall back on that description while writing an article about (and you must admit this) a religiously odd marriage. Where People fell down is that they didn’t see Weiner’s act for what it was: an act, and a rather demeaning one at that.

Indeed, People’s characterization of Weiner as a brash NY Jew is classic Jew-hatred.
All they had to write was: “A brash New Yorker.”
We all get that.
Besides, Weiner is not Jewish. His mother was Catholic, hence the name Anthony.
Would they write: “A brash New York Catholic.”
I don’t think so.

Wow! A sight that actually sticks up for Israel. What a nice thing for an old Irish Catholic lady to find. I tried to warn Jewish acquaintances about Obama but they wouldn’t listen.
My joy at this find was clouded over by the information that you had lost your son. I’m so sorry for you. I have never lost a child, but while raising mine, I have always had that fear in the back of my mind. My “baby” is 30, and I am still afraid for him. My heart goes out to you.

One would think “brash leftist” or “brash pervert” comes to mind immediately upon pondering Mr. Weiner. What kind of “refined Muslim” not only stands by such a sociopath, but actually encourages him to keep a position of power that has been feeding his sickness?
That’s some brash writing and unrefined editing by People Magazine.

Well, in fairness to People, whenever Weiner got on national TV, he did play to the stereotype of a “brash New York Jew.” Seeing him on CNN or other national news channels was like watching a Mel Brooks caricature. Moreover, it was a deliberately cultivated persona. In more private settings, he acts nothing like that.

People Magazine’s comment was anti-Semitic no question about it.
As for the Weiners, Anthony has been relegated to the dustbin of history. He is now the butt of You Tube jokesters and comedians world wide. Huma has now gotten more bad publicity than she ever dreamed possible. I’m sure she and her parents damn the day she ever met Weiner.

I do have one question: does the MSM paint Ginger Lee as pious and refined too? After all, politics and pornography have a similar career objective — screwing people for money and power.
At least Tony Weiner is no longer a useful tool for the Islamo-Leftist. Well, maybe he still is, but at least he’s been brought to light. I’m hopeful exposing evil to light will be enough…

It’s a terribly odd tale, isn’t it? In my wide-ranging travels around the interweb, I found a conspiracy-theorist site that put together a reasonably plausible argument for Weiner being a victim of Barry Dunham’s anti-Israel bias. I’ve spent 20 minutes trying to find the story without success. Jenny’s post covers most of the details, aside from the tabloid-salaciouse Hilary/Huma rumours.
Well, it was reasonably plausible until one remembered that Andrew Breitbart broke the story. Unless he’s a leftie plant!

“Ibn”: *You* know **better** than anyone that jihad and taqiyya (if, it can be demonstrated, these are what Mrs. Weiner is engaging in as an anti-American Muslim (stuff a normal American calls espionage and treason)) enjoins war by any means. For such a well-placed operative (if it can be demonstrated), eschewing outward shows of piety like the hijab and veil is a given.
Which journalists are calling for the State Dept to make public all of Mrs. Weiner’s emails? And calling for volunteers to analyze them?

If Huma was a true “pious” Muslim why isn’t she wearing the hijab?
Ask most scholars and they will say for a Muslim woman to be pious they should cover their head. So according to their own religion Huma is not a pious Muslim.

IF I may be so bold…
“1. How did this “refined” and pious Muslim marry a “brash New York Jew?” It makes no sense. Pious Muslims only marry Muslims. See Front Page for an eye-opening discussion of this mystery.”
My ignorance of Islam is considerable, but perhaps it is different for women than for men? Is it possible that women are permitted to marry outside the Islamic Faith while men are required not to do so?
“2. Okay, maybe Anthony Weiner is so devastatingly charming and handsome that Huma couldn’t resist. I mean, just dig into his Tweets to porn star Ginger Lee—how come there are never porn actresses, just porn stars?—and you can see what a class act is The Weiner, obviously perfect marriage material for a pious Muslim.”
Perhaps one is called a star instead of an actor because one cannot act? Of course, if Ginger Lee is convincing in her roles, perhaps they should strictly be called “actors”. Regarding mariage material: Perhaps the “refinement” of her Islamic beliefs involve putting up with infidelity…or perhaps she is unsurprised that an infidel would engage in infidelity.
“3. But what about Huma Abedin’s family who are all Islamists with strong ties to, get this, the Muslim Brotherhood? Did they actually give their daughter the okay to marry an infidel?”
Why ask this question? What could possibly be gained by the Muslim Brotherhood by placing a Muslim into a marriage with a prominent New York City Politician? Especially one who seems to enjoy publicizing that which should never be made public?
“4. My friend Rob Miller of Joshua Pundit analyzes the backstory of the Weinergate scandal and reasonably asks: Did Anthony Weiner secretly convert to Islam? And is Huma Abedin Weiner, current Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and a long time member of Hillary’s Pants Suit Brigade, an Islamist mole?”
Is it permissible in the Kur’An for Islamic Moles to dig in Infidel’s dirt? (Yes, I too am annoyed whenever anyone answers a question with a question). I do not know the true answers to the questions, and as I said, my Islamic knowledge is limited. But I do seem to recall a verse in the Islamic Holy text that states anything is permissible if it brings “justice” to the infidel. I could be wrong.

Karen’s note to People is quite specific, she does not refer to all media.
Can you provide examples of People magazine stereotyping Catholics, Evangelicals and Buddhists in the same vulgar manner in which they stereotype Jews in the Weiner article?
As for the bumper-sticker Alger Hiss comment:
1. There were Communists in America who sought to overthrow our government. Here in Hollywood there were scores of Stalinists who exerted huge influence on the Writer’s Guild of America and in their scripts. You might see them as martyrs. I view them as useful idiots who aided Soviet genocide.
2. This is America, citizens have the right to demand that their government officials be transparent and accountable. Hillary Clinton is Secretary of State. Hence, her staff must be thoroughly examined. To avoid this because of PC posturing would be criminal.
2. In an age in which Islamists seek to conquer the West through violent jihad and stealth jihad it is only common sense to question Mrs. Weiner’s Islamist background and probe how a “pious” Muslim comes to marry an infidel. It is strictly haram. Something is quite off-center in this entire affair, and it’s not just Weiner’s sick and abusive tweets.

I’m pasting in some text from an article that was published online back in April of 2007, regarding the mysterious sources of funding for Huma Abedin’s lavish lifestyle, on such a low salary, when she didn’t have the income to afford to live so high on the hog, given her only source of income was a bit over $27k per year as Hillary Clinton’s travel aide. The speculation really accelerated after it became known Abedin had purchased a high priced apartment in a posh neighborhood in DC, that cost $649,000.00. Just how could someone earning her low salary get a mortgage for such an expensive property. Abedin had no other known source of income, her family wasn’t wealthy, though they were highly connected to the same Saudis who funded the 9/11 terrorists. The MSM didn’t report on this, so it got sidetracked after Abedin’s strangely timed marriage to Anthony Weiner. The article not only includes all the pertinent data, it provides links to sources that back them up. Here’s the url to the complete article, the relevant text is pasted in below: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1921983/posts
Ms. Abedin recently bought an apartment in the vicinity of 12th and U streets in Washington, D.C. …
Ms. Abedin began working for Mrs. Clinton as an intern for the then First Lady in 1996. She was hired as a staff assistant to the First Lady’s chief of staff, Maggie Williams. For several years, she was the backup to Mrs. Clinton’s permanent personal aide, Allison Stein, and she officially took over as Mrs. Clinton’s aide and advisor around the time of the 2000 Senate race.
Her Presidential campaign title is “traveling chief of staff”…
According to a friend, her favorite designers are Mr. de la Renta, Catherine Malandrino, Charles Nolan and Prada. “And she has a weakness for Marc Jacobs bags,” said the friend. “She is known for her bags.”
Robert Barnett, the Clintons’ longtime attorney, said that in 11 years of knowing her, he has never seen her wear the same outfit twice…
Huma Abedin’s father died, about 15 years ago, when Huma Abedin was 17.
Huma Abedin’s mother seems to be referred to, variously, as “Saleha Abedin”, “Saleha Mahmood Abedin”, “Saleha S. Mahmood Abedin”, and “Saleha S. Mahmood”.
She is believed to be employed as a Sociology Professor at Dar Al-Hekma Women’s College, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and it appears that she now holds the position of the Director of the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, which was founded by her late husband:

Clinton, Sen. Hillary Rodham (D-New York) 10/01/03 03/31/04 Staff Assistant $9,000.00
Now let’s start with that “apartment in the vicinity of 12th and U streets in Washington, D.C”.
The most money Huma Abedin ever earned, as a Senate staffer, within a single one year time span, was from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006:
04/01/05 to 09/30/05: $17,999.96
10/01/05 to 03/31/06: $9,999.96
TOTAL: $27,999.92
Let’s see what kind of a 30-year mortgage that salary would qualify her for:
GMAC Mortgage Qualifier Calculator
Cash on hand: $10,000
Interest rate: 6.250%
Term: 30 Years
Property tax: 1.00%
Home insurance: 0.50%
gmacmortgage.com
Monthly car payment(s): $300
Credit card payment(s): $100
Other loan payment(s): $0
Other closing costs: $800
An annual income of $28,000 may qualify you for $54,828 loan.
Monthly car payment(s): $0
Credit card payment(s): $0
Other loan payment(s): $0
Other closing costs: $0
An annual income of $28,000 may qualify you for $82,049 loan.
So it appears that Huma Abedin ought to be eligible for a mortgage loan in the general range of $50,000 to $85,000.
Now let’s see if we can find that apartment in the vicinity of 12th & U Streets.
Note that that intersection is also known as “1200 U Street NW”, zip code 20009:

With all possible respect to Mrs. Avrech, actually, the media would also stereotype Catholics and Evangelicals in precisely the same way. They also stereotype Buddhists just as much, but in the opposite way (real Buddhists are much more like Evangelicals than they are like the sort of Westerner who thinks he digs Buddhism).
While “brash New York Jew” really is a thing that exists (leaving to one side that Weiner isn’t one, strictly defined, as his mother is a Gentile), I’m curious about this “refined Muslim” thing. To my knowledge Islam and refinement are no more connected than Wesleyanism and hygiene; and if we’re indexing “religion” and “refinement”, New York’s populace of Haredi and Hasidic Jews have to be fairly high on the list, while great swaths of the Dar-al-Islam don’t even qualify.
As for Huma Abedin’s family having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, holy mackerel, it’s Alger Hiss all over again. How often does this country have to get burned like this before it learns its lesson?

The media did a good job of playing up the Jew/muslim Cinderella marriage. But is there one scintilla of evidence that Weiner was some great catch by a woman beautiful enough to get almost anyone, especially if she is open to non-muslims? Has anyone ever witnessed behavior from him that would appeal to anyone but the most rabid partisan or some reptile crawling on the jungle floor?
Weiner’s actions would have gotten him fired and sued if he were working for any private company. But our lords and masters in D.C. are too good to have the rules apply to them.

You write:
Look at it like this: if Weiner’s wife were an Orthodox Jew with strong ties to, oh, say, Israel, don’t you think the media would be all over that story with charges of conflict of interest, dual loyalties, state secrets, etc?
The answer is yes. Here’s a recent NYT *News* story about Dennis Ross.
Mr. Netanyahu and Israel’s backers in the United States view Mr. Ross as a key to holding at bay what they see as pro-Palestinian sympathies expressed by Mr. Mitchell; Mr. Obama’s first national security adviser, Gen. James L. Jones; and even the president himself.
“Starting with Mitchell and Jones, there was a preponderance of advisers who were more in tune with the Palestinian narrative than the Israeli narrative,” said Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League and a friend of Mr. Ross. “Dennis balanced that.”
Mr. Ross is the most senior member of a coterie of American diplomats who have advised presidents stretching back to Ronald Reagan. Unlike many of his colleagues, Mr. Ross has thrived in Republican and Democratic administrations.
“Dennis is viewed as the éminence grise, a sort of Rasputin who casts a spell over secretaries of state and presidents,” said Aaron David Miller, a Middle East expert who has worked with him over several administrations and says he is an admirer. “But in the end, it’s the president who makes the ultimate decisions.”
I don’t even think that Dennis Ross is so pro-Israel, but that’s how his critics tar him. Ross is pro peace process, and as far as peace processors go, he’s not so anti-Israel.
