I’m no longer shocked by human cruelty.
History is a wheel that plays reruns of human depravity 24/7.
What does surprise me is the extent of denial in the West regarding Iran and the mullahs who rule that unhappy land.
When Barack Hussein Obama insists that dialog with these butchers is necessary, he is, in effect legitimizing the evil of that Islamic theocracy.
In fact, Obama’s foreign policy initiatives have aligned America with some of the most repressive regimes on earth: Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Zelaya in Honduras. Obama has played kissy-face with North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Hamas, Fatah, and most recently the Russians made Obama look like an amateur in a game of high-stakes poker.
Well gee, I suppose if Obama could sit for over 20-years and contentedly listen to Jeremiah Wright curse America and Israel and honor a proud Jew-hater like Louis Farrakhan, the mullahs are—yawn—just more of the same.
As for the 78% of American Jews who voted for Obama, don’t you think it’s time for some serious self-reflection.
In a shocking and unprecedented interview, directly exposing the inhumanity of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s religious regime in Iran, a serving member of the paramilitary Basiji militia has told this reporter of his role in suppressing opposition street protests in recent weeks.
He said he had been a highly regarded member of the force, and had so “impressed my superiors” that, at 18, “I was given the ‘honor’ to temporarily marry young girls before they were sentenced to death.”
In the Islamic Republic it is illegal to execute a young woman, regardless of her crime, if she is a virgin, he explained. Therefore a “wedding” ceremony is conducted the night before the execution: The young girl is forced to have sexual intercourse with a prison guard—essentially raped by her “husband.”
“I regret that, even though the marriages were legal,” he said.
Why the regret, if the marriages were “legal?”
“Because,” he went on, “I could tell that the girls were more afraid of their ‘wedding’ night than of the execution that awaited them in the morning. And they would always fight back, so we would have to put sleeping pills in their food. By morning the girls would have an empty expression; it seemed like they were ready or wanted to die.
“I remember hearing them cry and scream after [the rape] was over,” he said. “I will never forget how this one girl clawed at her own face and neck with her finger nails afterwards. She had deep scratches all over her.”
Elder of Ziyon has the complete story.
Omri Ceren at Mere Rhetoric picks up the thread.
Soccer Dad reminds us that raping the virgins before execution has a literary and historical precedent.
And hey, why not allow the mullahs to acquire nuclear weapons?
Obviously, a regime that believes so deeply in the sanctity of marriage can be trusted to act rationally.
Thank you for this post. Where is the photo taken from?
Gregg:
The MSM are now just a branch of the Obama White House. They take their lead from the Dear Leader. And according to Barack Hussein Obama, settlements in Israel are the gravest threat facing the world.
Johnny:
Human Rights Watch is a Jew-hating moral abyss. They were recently in Saudi Arabia, raising funds, and highlighting their criticism of Israel as their bona fides.
When will MSM begin to acknowledge the atrocoties that are being committed in these countries?
Even the conservative Fox station barely mentions these awful events.
How is it that Israel is constantly being accused of human rights abuses when Saudi Arabia,Iran ,North Korea, Sudan etc. are never even mentioned for their sickening acts?
These gross human rights violations must be spread to a larger audience-perhaps ‘Facebook’ or ‘Twitter’ could be a possible venue.
Imagine Bush being hell-bent on negotiating with a regime that has done what Iran is doing. NOW and Human Rights Watch would be hanging him in effigy while starting impeachment hearings.
But Obama gets nothing but attaboys from the left. What human rights abuses? We must talk and talk and talk……………………
I always say a prayer that I never become such a hypocrite.
Alice:
I prefer to make hell on earth for rapists and child molesters: castrate them.
Exdem:
Of course Western feminists ignore the female-hatred that animates radical Islam, they’re waaaaay too busy trying to destroy Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean.
Bill:
it is quite true that much evil is done in the name of G-d. However, we should bear in mind that the greatest evil of the recent past was committed by Socialists and Communists who are, by definition, atheists.
The Nazi movement was essentially a Socialist pagan movement that rejected Christianity.
” … What does surprise me is the extent of denial in the West regarding Iran and the mullahs who rule that unhappy land. … ”
what surprises me,
is why no one calls out the leftist feminists on this, and on all the other honors Islam bestows upon women
Ironically, there is no doubt in my mind that there is a special hell for such rapists.
Thank you for putting such information out there. People need to know.
Jake:
No shame in having a quick mind. I should have been more detailed in explaining the Soccer Dad link.
Davo:
I’m all for nuclear power plants, but like drilling for domestic oil, Obama and the Democrats seems to have taken that option off the table.
Grrrr, I never thought I’d compliment France on anything, but their use of nuclear power is sane and safe.
Drilling is Alaska is unfortunately not going to be enough, given our energy needs. About the only thing that can suppy power on this scale is nuclear power, and in local regions, solar and maybe some biofuels.
Davo:
No argument regarding reducing dependence on foreign oil.
But remember, it’s not just cars that depend on oil but almost every endeavor in the industrial world. You can’t make plastic without oil. You can’t run your computer or turn on lights without oil. The industrial West would collapse into a Hobbesian state without crude.
We should be drilling in Alaska and off shore.
Because the notion of alternate sources of fuel is still a chimera.
Look at Boone Pickens, he just pulled the plug on his massive wind farm because it was financially unfeasible, losing several billion dollars on his initial investment.
As long as alternate energy cannot meet the needs of the free market (profit) and the needs of industrial nations, we will use oil.
Better to use our oil than foreign oil.
Oh, geez, now I see the link you put up there from Soccer Dad… sorry to be late on that one.
This was also the practice in Ancient Rome. It was illegal to kill virgins, so centurions would often order their troops to rape them to make it “legal.” This became a sadly common practice when entire families were ordered to be killed, as families often included underage girls.
I guess calling these people 7th century barbarians is no longer apt… they are more like 1st century barbarians.
By no means do I fail to condemn the excesses of N. Korea. But as you noted, we should never stop pointing out the tribal depravity of Saudi Arabia’s rulers. Forget climate change, but the US has got to reduce and possibly eliminate its dependence on Saudi Arabian oil to finally deprive those tyrants of the free ride they have been enjoying for so long.
Think of all the evil that Man perpetuates all in G*d’s name….
I have wanted to see the movie Stoning of Soraya M. but it doesn’t seem to be coming to my town.
In telling of the Iranian guards “marrying” the young girls before their execution I was reminded of the SS guards and their treatment of attractive young women in the camps.
Of course, they too, felt that they were doing “G*d’s Work” – each one having a belt buckle with the inscription “Gott Mit Uns”
Davo:
Saudi Arabia is most certainly a moral sink hole. Seraphic Secret has made no, ahem, secret of our loathing for this corrupt family enterprise. Calling Saudi Arabia a country is like calling the Mafia a legitimate corporation.
However, abuse of human rights is one thing, and mass murder through a deliberate program of starvation (man-made famine is the correct term) reaches a whole new level of evil.
North Korea murdered and continues to murder millions of its citizens in such a manner through the last decade.
North Korea also has a gulag system that rivals Stalin’s. Reports have reached the West that show millions imprisoned, tortured, starved, worked to death and subsisting on bark, worms, and when the prisoners are lucky, rats.
It’s also a country where you won’t find any disabled people—no citizens in wheel chairs, nor those afflicted with Autism, etc.
Why?
The North Koreans explain that they are such a superior race that no such people are ever born.
The truth is stark and simpler: the authorities kill babies who are born with physical and mental defects.
While I echo your sentiments, it’s Saudi Arabia that is the most repressive regime in the world, a tribal society still driven by primitive ambitions of power, monarchy and extreme repression of women (much worse even than Iran). It’s a regime that every US president irrespective of political affiliation has supported since eternity. Keeping quiet about Saudi Arabia while rightly focusing on Iran reflects a failure of morality and hypocrisy in both the government and the media.
