Recently, I’ve noticed an interesting use of language among my Torah observant friends.
The classical Hebrew curse, “Y’mach sh’mo”, may his name be blotted from memory, is usually reserved for Amalek, the biblical foes of the Children of Israel, and Haman, the evil Persian court bureaucrat from the Book of Esther. In modern times, this curse has been reserved almost exclusively for Stalin, Hitler, and Arafat.
But ever since Obama capitulated to the IslamoNazis of Iran, I’ve heard several friends here and in Israel say, “Obama, y’mach sh’mo.”
This level of contempt for an American political figure is unprecedented. But in light of Obama’s nakedly anti-Israel agenda, not surprising.
