The Coming Impeach Trump Movement

guns-safe-space

The emotions from the left over Trump’s victory has turned from shock, to grief, to fury, to denial. They will never reach acceptance.

A kind of mass delusion has taken hold of the American left as the reality of the election has sunk in.

Hillary has joined Jill Stein in demanding recounts in several states. They claim, with absolutely no evidence, that Russia hacked the count.

Even Obama’s White House has denied this bit of paranoid looniness.

A few weeks ago, Hillary stated that a refusal to accept the results of an American election is “horrifying” and a “threat to democracy.”

Which means that Hillary is  horrifying and a threat to Democracy.

A Hollywood friend told me that Trump won’t last long “because we’re going to impeach him at the first chance.”

I said: “Great. We’ll have President Pence, a true Conservative.”

My friend said: “We’ll impeach him too.”

It’s easy to laugh at this political craziness. But keep in mind that the left is relentless. I fully expect an impeach Trump movement to take hold and be fully financed by George Soros.

To quote Margo Channing: “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.”

Comment Rules

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

  1. No profanity.
  2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

Had dinner with an old friend on Saturday who said he doesn’t expect Trump to last more than 2 years in office. He says the left would rather have to deal with Pence than Trump. So would the right.

    Barry:

He’s a creature of Hollywood. Thus, reality does not intrude. Dems see this as, ahem, noble resistance.

IOW they wouldn’t vote to impeach Bill Clinton for lying under oath but are ready to impeach Trump and Pence for….nothing.

Read this morning that this entire Brouhaha over recounts in WI is just a ploy to deligitimize the Trump victory.

Bill, They did vote to impeach Bill Clinton, but did not convict him. Impeachment is the process, nothing more.

Does your idiotic friend understand that grounds are required for impeachment, and having the dominant party in congress might be a help. Or is this fool just another crazed ‘liberal’?

“Grounds are required” — not really. The Constitution mentions grounds for impeachment. But in fact it leaves the entire process completely up to the unconstrained judgment of Congress. The House impeaches, the Senate convicts, and no one else has any say in the matter. There may be (would be) political consequences if Congress made a mockery of the process, but there can’t be legal consequences. At least not under the Constitution; whether the lawless courts would attempt to inject themselves into this is a different question. Given Bush v. Gore I’m not hopeful on this (that was a case where the correct answer was “Federal courts have no jurisdiction, go away”).

On a different note: I like that image, but it needs to be reworded. “My safe space” is wrong, it should say “a safe space”.
