Holocaust denial. Temple denial. And now Jerusalem denial. It all boils down to the same thing: a denial of Jewish history that is, ipso facto, a repudiation of Jewish sovereignty over the land of Israel.
Obama vowed to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.”
This is one promise he has fulfilled.

It strikes me that the mindset of the kind of liberal Jews that Robert is talking about is quite close, psychologically speaking, to the mindset of the liberal Christians that C S Lewis wrote about in 1940 about in his brilliant essay “Dangers of National Repentance.” The essay can be located by googling “dangers of national repentance.”

I love the comments of the Palestinians today – when Mitt – in Israel – is comparing Israeli society with the Palestinian Authority – comparing the average per capita income as twice in Israel – the Palestinians denounced him as “rascist”.
To paraphrase the good Samuel Johnson, 17th century English humorist , accusing someone as “racist” today over an issue having nothing to do with race – is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

To this I would add “historically challenged”. To view the march of the Jewish people through the centuries, to and from the four corners of the earth, and despite all odds, and repeated attempts by the rest of the human race to annihilate them, return to their G-d-given ancestral land and not see it for the amazement that it is, is historical blindness.

So very frustrating! The suicidal quality of J Street. What are the psychodynamics? Delusional thinking? Denial? Wanting to be accepted by the host culture in diaspora? How about guilt? Just put him or her in the company of an observant Jew, or in the company of their brothers and sisters wearing the uniform of the IDF “ I’ll leave the rest to the psychoanalysts.
