The Right Commercial to Unhinge the Unhinged Left

Well played.

Focus on the Family dangled some tidbits of information to the media knowing that the chronically hysterical left would get, er, hysterical.

And then came the commercial.

Yup, that’s the 33 seconds that caused the pro-abortion fanatics to foam at the mouth.

The commercial, as far as I can tell, is about how much a mother loves her healthy and rambunctious son.

But hey, I’m not well versed in post-modern literary deconstruction.

How much do you want to bet that the pro-abortion forces are going to howl that the commercial advocates violence—becaue abortion is, y’know, not violent—against women?

Just a reminder:

Pam Tebow chose to ignore her doctor’s advice, risk her own life and give birth to her son, Tim.

Just as Sarah Palin chose to have a child she knew was mentally challenged.

These two women present a narrative the left is determined to demonize. A narrative that advocates free choice.

You see, the left only believes in choice when the choice is their choice.

And oh yeah, Barack Hussein Obama picked The Colts.

The man is the kiss of death.

Comment Rules

Seraphic Secret is private property, that's right, it's an extension of our home, and as such, Karen and I have instituted two Seraphic Rules and we ask commentors to act respectfully.

  1. No profanity.
  2. No Israel bashing. We debate, we discuss, we are respectful. You know what Israel bashing is. The world is full of it. Seraphic Secret is one of the few places in the world that will not tolerate this form of anti-Semitism.

That's it. Break either of these rules and you will be banned.

    Hi Jack -
Even within my om family there is disagreement over Palin.
But I truly don’t understand this whole argumenht of “lack of accomplishment”.
Among McCain, Palin,Obama and Biden only Palin had any record of Executive experience.
And Obama’s lack is showing now.
Her book answered a lot of questions that I had during the campaign. Why did she grant her first interview to among all people, Katie Couric?
And why didn’t she do some more obvious things during the campaign to help her? Such as talking to the talk show hosts more?
The answers to these are (a) one of her McCain-appointed campaign strategists was friends with Couric and felt sorry for her” , and (b) the “headquarters” held her campaign on a tight leash.
The book is divided into thirds – the first third tells of her family’s movie to Alaska, her high school days – and how “toughing it out” with a bad ankle helped her team win the national championship, the 2nd third is Alaska politics – going from city council in Wasilla to mayor, then governor, how she got ExxonMobil to stop sitting on leases held for decades and do exploration, and how she got much more money for Alaska from the oil companies.
It was destroying the “old boy” network between politicians (both parties) and the oil companies, and through threats of lawsuits, changed the way the oil companies do business in Alaska.
And she tells why she quit the governorship. The Alaska governor is not protected from the costs of lawsuits, while the legislature is. The lawsuits incidentally were all institigated from outside Alaska.
A lot of superfluous lawsuits gave her a $500,000 debt.

One wonders how the world would have been different if the overwhelming majority of these infants hadn’t been aborted? How many Einsteins – or Mozarts would have enriched the world?
    Hi Bill,
The problem with that type of speculation is that it opens the door for the same question to be asked about tyrants and serial killers. How many lives would have been saved if Stalin, Mao or Saddam’s mother’s had aborted their pregnancies.
Why is the left so angry at Palin? She is a phenomenon, who doesn’t generate neutrality.
She does a pretty good job of aggravating people across the board. I am among those who dislike her and readily admit my bias. I think that her lack of real accomplishments, ego and having quit when the going gets tough have hurt her.
But I am not worried about her as a presidential candidate. She excites a specific group of people and beyond that there is no support.
Focus on the Family did a good job of creating buzz about the ad. I am not a fan and frankly would prefer not to see politically charged ads during the Super Bowl.
But if they are going to show them why would they turn down the gay dating site ad. It was pretty innocuous as well.
Well, all this gives us some blog fodder and material to chew on.

Chronically hysterical. I love that term – very accurate! There must be some sort of psychological help to cure that. Of course, admitting there is a problem is the first step.
Why is it that the left wants there to be tolerance of EVERYTHING besides their point of view?

    SARCASM ON
Wow – that’s something to really get upset about!!
    SARCASM OFF
I thought the idea was clever – refer people to a website where they could get further information if they so chose
And since when does pro-choice mean that someone has to have an abortion – doesn’t it mean that they should have a choice?

It’s funny, but the only place you’ll find high achieving politically conservative kids on the Ivy campuses is the sports teams. Not all are conservative by any stretch, but you have to visit the football and basketball courts to find the real intellectual and racial/geographical diversity these schools claim to be so concerned about. You should see some of the abuse these athletes take from the smart-alecky liberal intelligensia on campus, from the professors to their fellow students. It’s ugly.

The left is just as unhinged about “The Blind Side”. They HATE anything not following their prejudices and tenets.

I would like to thank NOW for all the FREE publicity Focus on the Family received PRIOR to the ad even being aired yesterday.
I bet after they saw it they realized they over reacted. Then maybe they don’t realize they over reacted.
It proves your point about choice. Their choice is the only correct choice.

I have always been a fan of “what if” history – Of course ultimately it is futile – but still fun.
If certainly seemingly minuscule events had been different how would the “big picture” have changed?
One wonders how the world would have been different if the overwhelming majority of these infants hadn’t been aborted? How many Einsteins – or Mozarts would have enriched the world?
Or just good people who in their day-to-day existence would have made the world a better place in their contributions?
Why is the left so angry at Palin? She is a phenomenon, who doesn’t generate neutrality.
I wrote her a letter saying that she took the Left’s “franchise” – that like Clarence Thomas you aren’t supposed to be a successful black – or woman – and be conservative.
But even among some conservatives there is a dislike – although not the rabid hatred one sees in the Left.
Just look at the YouTube comments anytime a Palin video is shown. It’s like showing sunlight to a vampire.
They tried to destroy Thomas at the confirmation hearings just as they tried to destroy Palin.
Her book was interesting read and time well spent.

The Pro Life groups had a commercial featuring Tim Tebow.
The Pro Abortion groups are planning a counter-commercial featuring the New York Knicks.
    (Sorry, but it works!)

I hadn’t gotten around to watching it until now; that’s what everyone is so upset about? Goodness. How do people go through life with such thin skin?
