The Secret Arafat Tape

Terrorist Yasser Arafat

“[Ariel] Sharon even considered disseminating a videotape filmed by Romanian intelligence in the late 1970s. General Ion Mihai Pacepa, the former head of DIE (the Soviet-Romanian intelligence organization)—who said of [Yasser] Arafat, “I have never seen so much cleverness, blood, and abomination combined in one man”—recalled that his men had installed hidden cameras in the official guesthouse where Arafat stayed after meeting with President Nicolae Ceausescu, and that the cameras documented Arafat engaging in homosexual relations with his bodyguards. Sharon told his aides that this documentation had reached the hands of Israeli intelligence and that he considered dissemination it anonymously on the internet.”

He ammased a fortune of $900 million IIRC – most accrued from Western “aid” an IIRC there was a dark rumor he died of AIDS. Why he is considered a hero by some is beyond me.

Apparently, in many Arab communities, rampant corruption and a homosexual lifestyle are only small, inconsequential character flaws in the public persona that was “The King of the Jew Haters”….

I suppose one could argue the same thing about American politicians. Each side of the aisle has at least 1-2 examples of a dirty, womanizing candidate who their base portrayed as the squeaky-clean, hero of the people.
