The VA is the poster child for Big Government.
Anyone who has ever dealt with government bureaucracy knows hell. The primary function of the bureaucrat is to move files from one domain to another, using ironclad protocols that are frequently at odds with reality.
The bureaucracy is an ecosystem dedicated to self-preservation. The services the bureaucrat provides are too often afterthoughts, annoying duties carried out with martyred sighs.
Look at the Los Angeles Unified School District. By any rational measure, it is an utter failure at educating children. But it is a roaring success if you are a member of the well-paid bureaucratic class that fails the children on an industrial scale. LAUSD is a monopoly. And like all monopolies there is no incentive to improve services.
So it is with the VA, a gargantuan bureaucracy that cannot function efficiently and humanely because market forces have been eliminated, because the laws of supply and demand are not respected, because the VA is a single-payer health care system, because the VA is Big Government run amok, because the VA is a monopoly.
It goes without saying that nothing will change at the VA.
Monopolies never improve, they only fossilize.
Obama has known about the VA for five years. Of course, he did nothing to remedy the situation because he is, first and foremost, an opportunistic politician whose only talent is getting elected. Solving problems is beyond his abilities.
Perhaps Michelle will publish a pouting selfie promoting the hashtag #LoveOurDeadVets.
So far, the estimate is that 40 veterans have died because of VA bureaucrats. There will be more. Many more.
The VA scandal should alert all Americans to their fate under ObamaCare.
Under ObamaCare, it will be VA treatment for everyone.
This is exactly why I never *dreamed* that Obozocare would become statute.
Two acronyms should have shut down the whole looming disaster– VA and IHS (Indian Health Service). I remember that just before the bill was being voted on in the House, a couple of people doing actual journalism were doing exposes of the huge screw-ups in the IHS system, including a young Crow girl who suffered with untreated stomach cancer (the IHS provider told her parents the pain was “all in her head.”). Suddenly, the stories stopped. And were scrubbed. *Anyone* knowing someone getting their healthcare through VA or IHS knows they are dangerous systems to have to use, and to subject the general public to such care is catastrophic. Big government cannot do for *individuals* what individuals can do for themselves– like choose foods, health care plans/options, etc. Look at the VA now– there are the death panels, just before us. If DemProgs (love that term, thanks Bookworm!) can do this to VETERANS, just imagine what its going to be like for the rest of us (unless you’re a illegal alien/or a legal alien of the right community).
What about the fact that this has been going on forever? I’m no fan of Obama, but how do we answer this obvious reaction that every lib is going to give?
The reply is simple as it is devastating: The situation at the VA has worsened considerably under Obama than under any other POTUS. Further, Obama campaigned aggressively on improving VA services.
The VA scandal should alert all Americans to their fate under ObamaCare.
Under ObamaCare, it will be VA treatment for everyone.
While this is true, there is something else going on too.
The Obama administration, as well as the liberal left in general, hates the military, and couldn’t care less about the suffering of any veteran, (unless he were a traitor or defector or Muslim murderer … )
