Fighting Anti-Semitism and Defending Israel in the Age of BDS
Why does pro-Israel activism continue to be an uphill battle despite the enormous resources dedicated to it? Are we losing the war against anti-Semitism or are we failing to fight it? In a talk that applies the lessons of biblical Jewish history to current politics and events, we will learn that fighting anti-Semitism and defending Israel doesn’t require changing our opponents, but changing how we see the world and ourselves.
Robert J. Avrech,
Thank you so much for this. It’s deeply touching the kind words shared about your son, Ariel. They say time heals all wounds. However, I’ve have found that there are some which run so deep that there is only healing, never a resolution if you will. May the Lord grant you comfort and peace.
There are many fine points to Daniel Geenfield’s remarks. Two of them, nice and conviction, stood out to me. Indeed, if one is overly concerned about being nice, one surrenders “power” over oneself to others. And, as he pointed out, it is never enough. The “others” can always then determine what is nice and what it takes to so qualify.
To me this brings us to the matter of conviction. The world doesn’t want principled persons of conviction, let alone those of faith. I know that in this regard we’re addressing Judaism. However, as I recall, Daniel Greenfield noted that the Jews have a history of lessening their conviction which has never worked in their favor.
Although a Christian, I can nevertheless pray that the Lord give the Jews the courage and strength to live as they believe He wants them so to do. I suggest we need them to and we need Israel to be as the Lord intends. God bless you all.
Thanks so much for your kind words and for your support. We appreciate our Christian Zionist friends.
You are welcome. May you have a blessed Shabbat.
Thank for posting so soon! I’m downloading the MP3 right now.
