President Obama’s “You didn’t build that” speech last week is highly revealing in several important ways.
Departing from his usual reliance on the teleprompter, President Obama spoke extemporaneously. This is made quite obvious from a halting delivery that was sprinkled with stuttering “ums” and broken sentences. It’s also obvious that he was speaking to an audience for whom he has contempt, which is to say a predominantly black audience. For suddenly, President Obama, raised in Hawaii and educated exclusively in expensive private schools, was dropping his g’s.
President Obama was speaking to an adoring audience, thus he spoke from the heart. And in speaking from the heart he told us, the American people, who he really is.
President Obama believes that free enterprise is and should be just another branch of government. He tolerates private business only as an extension of state power. He believes that a government job is, by its very nature, superior to a free market.
He believes that the government should be your daddy—and your G-d.
Your daddy because 74% of black children are born into fatherless households.
This is a cultural tragedy. Fatherless boys and girls are doomed to lives of crime, poverty and dependence on government programs. But no program can substitute for a father. No amount of money can fix a people who thrash about in a cultural tsunami.
Fatherless black households are one of the uninitended consequences of the Great Society created by Lyndon Johnson and the Democrats. Indeed, the Democrats, the party of slavery, created even more slaves through this horrendously stupid program.
And what about G-d?
In conversation with Torah observant Jews there is a two-word phrase that invariably makes its way into the conversation: B’ezrat Ha-Shem, with G-d’s help. These two words summarize a theology in which the traditionally observant Jew recognizes that no matter what he does G-d is there to help. Everything we do is in partnership with G-d.
Overheard recently: ”B’ezrat Ha-Shem, we’ll be visiting our grandchildren next week.” “B’ezrat HaShem they’ll be getting married in November.” “B’ezrat Ha-Shem, my business will be opening a new branch office in Jerusalem,” and so on.
My pious Christian friends deliver variations of this recognition of G-d’s presence in our daily lives invoking His Grace, the Lord, Jesus and chosen saints.
Thus, President Obama and the Democrat party seek to replace not just your daddy—in fact the nuclear family—with the state but also G-d. You didn’t make that. Someone else did. And that someone was the state.
It’s no coincidence that Communism always oppresses religion. The Soviets tried unsuccessfully to substitute the state for G-d. Today, in North Korea, religion is a state crime. To worship the Kim family is a sacred patriotic duty. Ditto for Hollywood’s favorite gulag, Cuba.
President Obama and the Democrats are not seeking to overthrow religion. But they are seeking to co-opt religion into the Democrat party and make religion a very junior partner. The Catholic Church is already experiencing the initial effects of this partnership and it is decidedly painful.
But of course the state is a G-d that always fails.
The mainstream media are rushing to explain Obama’s statement.
It was a gaffe…
No, it was the truth.
He was really saying…
No, the President meant what he said.
This little speech should be seen for what it is: the moment when the man behind the curtain was fully revealed.

Obama revealed his true self in 2008 but his fan boys ignored what he said.
A big clue was when he said it was above his position to know when life begins. Or how about bragging that coal plants will go bankrupt under his energy plan. And of course his “bitter clingers” statement combined with telling Joe the Plumber he wanted to share the wealth all were evidence of his roots and core beliefs.
He keeps revealing his true self and there are millions that think a socialist president is just fine with them.

Even pious Muslims will say ‘God Willing”.
When Obama, through one of his infamous executive orders, rescinded the requirement to work – for at least tying to find work, on the welfare bill President Clinton signed, it lends credence to your contention that they really do want dependents.
That sounds like a pathology – they certainly don’t have the interests of the country in mind – just accruing power.

Your 1861 graphic is just how Obama sees society. But in it, he sees a “rich Republican” getting wealthy off of the hard labor of his slaves. Today, he sees the uber-rich (Welch, Trump, Buffet, et. al.) getting rich off of the poor union workers. As a result of that viewpoint, he wants to punish the producers for their success.
Of course, President Obama’s remarks make perfect sense when you put them into his environmental context. Everything he has achieved in life is the result of other’s hard work. His scholarly pursuits were enabled by financial and/or diversity awards (I believe). His community activism was supported by wealthy liberal institutions. His political career has been carefully guided by The Chicago Machine. Even his election was the result of coordinated efforts on behalf of the unions, etc.
No, the comment makes perfect sense when you view it through his eyes.
